The German-American Business Summit is the perfect opportunity to recruit new talent from community colleges and Universities in the Lowcountry, discuss and explore issues pertinent to German-American industry, and also network with other businesses and influencers in higher education. Now in its 3rd iteration, the summit consists of a 2-hour job fair, a conference on topics in German-American industry, and a reception for participants from industry and the community and educators. This year, support from the German Embassy’s Deutschlandjahr 2018/19 has made it possible to move the summit to a larger venue, the Gaillard Conference center two blocks from the College of Charleston. The College of Charleston German program, Career Center, School of Business, and School of Languages, Cultures and World affairs are hosting the event in partnership with The Citadel, Trident Technical College, and the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeastern United States.

Job Fair 11am-1pm
Companies have the opportunity to recruit not just German majors, but business, chemistry and computer science students from the College of Charleston; engineers and business students from The Citadel; and students completing A.S. degrees at Trident Technical College, along with students from throughout the region and high school students interested in apprenticeships. Last year, 200 students from six different universities attended the event. This year, due to the partnership with The Citadel and Trident Technical College, that number is expected to double.
