The mission of the Bonner Leaders Program is to transform the lives of students and members, the life of their campuses, their local communities, and the world through service and leadership.  Shanell Ransom has just completed her first year as a Bonner Leader:

"I learned very early about the value of service and I know how much people get out of their community.  I always had mentors in life.   The Bonner Leader program gave me access to a transformative College of Charleston education.  I balance my school work with service in the Charleston community.  I work at the College’s Center for Civic Engagement and weekly at the City of Charleston Recreation Department’s Therapeutic program.   I have achieved professional experiences in my very first year at the College – experiences that would have taken me four years to earn at another university.  Bonner Leaders is my life – it is my family at the College. “
