Gift Planning

Would you be interested in increasing your annual income?

Would you like to know how to make a gift without using cash?

Would you like to make a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime?

If your answer to any of the above questions is "Yes", then the Office of Gift Planning has information that you may find helpful.

Gift giving has become an art. The methods of supporting charitable organizations have extended far beyond delivering cash or writing checks. With the advent of various innovative techniques, donors have many choices on how to benefit the organizations they care about and at the same time, secure tax benefits for themselves and their families.

The Office of Gift Planning at the College of Charleston offers donors expertise and creativity in accomplishing their philanthropic goals. Our objective is to assist donors in making gifts that will be personally satisfying. It is anticipated that all donors will seek their own legal and financial counsel prior to finalizing any gift plan.

"What about...?" is the question we enjoy exploring with prospective donors. It begins the process of understanding the donor's needs and wishes in determining the timing and means for making a fulfilling gift.

Below is a list of various gift planning strategies. These provide a glimpse into what may be possible as donors consider the full range of their options for supporting the College. Please feel free to contact the Office of Gift Planning for further information on how these tools may be applied in to their best advantage in particular circumstances.

Donors who make planned gifts are recognized in our Cistern Society.
