Donor Recognition

Every gift — large or small — makes all of this possible.

The College of Charleston is entering an era of unprecedented growth and opportunity. As the College nears the 250th anniversary of its founding, it continues to fulfill its promise as an educational beacon for the state and the nation. But we can't continue to do this without your support.

Even though the College is a state-supported institution, its success has always depended upon the generosity of private donors. State funding covers only 21 percent of the institution's annual budget. So every time we offer a remarkable student a scholarship, every time we fund important faculty research and every time we construct a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility, it's because someone like you made a generous gift.

Plain and simple, your donations enable excellence. They fund the once-in-a-lifetime educational experiences – study abroad, undergraduate research, the Honors College – that inspire our students and put them on the path to success. Your donations build the facilities and finance the research grants that attract and sustain exceptional faculty. And they ensure that the College is constantly evolving and expanding to meet the needs of a 21st century education.

Why give to the College of Charleston? Because without your support, none of this is possible. But with your help, anything is possible.

As one expression of our gratitude, and the gratitude of our students, you can receive recognition in one of our donor-recognition societies. For more information on donor recognition, please visit the links listed on the left hand column of this page.
