College of Charleston Libraries

At once a keeper of history and a harbinger of technological advancement, the College of Charleston libraries are the premier research library for the region. Our myriad services reach across campus and into the community. Your support of the College of Charleston libraries benefits every student and faculty member.

The Marlene and Nathan Addlestone Library is the centerpiece of the College of Charleston’s campus. Over 1.5 million students, faculty and visitors pass through the doors annually, from scholars perusing our extensive collections of rare books and manuscripts to students taking advantage of computer access and quiet study rooms.

Beyond Addlestone, the libraries encompass the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture, the Grice Marine Laboratory, the John Rivers Communication Museum, and the library of the College of Charleston’s North Campus. All disciplines of study foster academic excellence through use of library resources.

As a donor to the College Libraries, you qualify for membership in the Friends of the Library. Your benefits include a Library card for borrowing privileges and on-site access to digital resources, invitations to year-round events and Friends-only receptions, publications spotlighting Libraries’ events, exhibits and news, and recognition as a College of Charleston Foundation donor.

Please consider becoming a Friend of the Library today.
